“The Grace Filipino Methodist Church is a church born of Grace, supernaturally revealed, renewed, and shared by every member - gone out from the shackles of dogmatism and legalism.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Humbly Seeking
In our journey as Christians, we are confronted endlessly of different mindsets and worldviews that draw us away from biblical truth. We are aware and reminded to seek God's truth with fearful humility, humbly go back to the scriptures when confronted with doctrinal infidelity.
1 Tim 6:3-5. If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.
Eagerly Learning
We are disciples...and the Great Commission is for us, tasked to be Disciplers of Men. We have one Teacher, his Name is Jesus.
"When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law". Matthew 7:28 -29
"Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” Matthew 15:14
Any attempt to teach or to preach outside the insight of the Holy Scriptures ("Sola Scriptura") and by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, risk one of becoming just that - a blind guide.
Joyfully Praising
"Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the JOY that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2
It is not a coincidence that the background chosen for these pages is the immensity of Creation. The mind cannot even comprehend the time it takes to travel from one dot (star) at the bottom, to the top star in this page. Or one tiny dot is likely not a single star but a whole galaxy!
The average distance between two stars in the Milky Way is around 5 light-years, 47 trillion kilometers according to the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, that would probably be 0.01mm distance between two tiny specks in this page!
Is it limitless? Where then is the throne of God?
“But will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built! 1 Kings 8:27
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." Psalm 19
"What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?" Psalm 8:4
Truly Loving
"Only God will satisfy a heart like David’s. And David was a man after God’s own heart. That’s the way we were created to be.
This is the essence of what it means to love God: to be satisfied in him. In him — not just his gifts, but God himself, as the glorious person that he is!
Loving God will include obeying all his commands; it will include believing all his word; it will include thanking him for all his gifts. But all that is overflow. The essence of loving God is admiring and enjoying all he is. And it is this enjoyment of God that makes all of our other responses truly glorifying to him.
None of us has arrived at perfect satisfaction in God. I grieve often over the murmuring of my heart when I lose some earthly comfort or convenience. But I have tasted that the Lord is good. By God’s grace I now know the fountain of everlasting joy.
And so I love to spend my days luring people into joy until they say with me, “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple” (Psalm 27:4)". - John Piper
